2019 NBA Draft: Darius Garland Reveals Kobe Bryant Was Favorite Player Growing Up
When the Lakers drafted Lonzo Ball, by this time they had worked out the majority of the lottery picks and were in the process of giving second work outs to the ones who they thought were the best options.
We are 10 days away from the draft and so far the only lottery talent the Lakers have worked out is Culver.
Now it's been reported that either the Lakers or the Suns have promised Garland that they will draft him.
Given the Lakers complete lack of due diligence here in working out prospects, it leaves me to believe there are only 3 possible options
1) They are going to draft Culver
2) They were the team who promised Garland
3) <---THIS is the most likely scenario, the Lakers have absolutely no intention of drafting a player with the pick that they will use themselves and they are going to trade the pick and all those prospects have been working out for the team who will draft them.
It makes no sense to promise Garland and not work him out, that would simply be irresponsible and Culver, he's a guy who you trade down for, so perhaps they are looking at a trade where they can drop.
